Robert Half Operations Associate in New York, New York

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the higher education industry, based in New York. This role will involve handling various finance related tasks including account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, billing, and administrative support.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable and receivable with accuracy

• Handle diverse finance control procedures including bank and account reconciliation, cash receipts, disbursements, and invoice processing

• Assist with the planning, coordination and execution of events to ensure smooth operations

• Provide administrative support such as managing incoming and outgoing mail and packages, coordinating meeting room reservations and setups, and maintaining the overall organization of the office

• Assist with the annual budget process and interim forecasting

• Research account transactions, identify and resolve discrepancies

• Utilize various software tools including Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for data entry and administrative management

• Collaborate with HR for onboarding, terminations, and making changes in finance systems. Requirements • Candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory

• Previous experience in the role of an Accounting Clerk is highly desirable

• Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, and Oracle is essential

• Demonstrable skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Data Entry, and Invoice Processing is required

• Prior experience in Administrative Assistance, Administrative management, and Administrative Office is beneficial

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make well-judged decisions

• Familiarity with higher education industry practices and standards is a plus.
