Mental Health Doctoral Lecturer - Ed Foundations & Counseling Programs

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Educational Foundations and Counseling Programs in Hunter College’s School of Education seeks candidates for a Doctoral Lecturer position effective August 28, 2024.

Duties include:

  • Teaching four graduate courses in the academic year

  • Student advisement and supporting graduate mental health counseling students and program

  • Serving on department and college-wide committees and offices, where appropriate

  • Participating in professional organizations such as the American Counseling Association or American Mental Health Counseling Association

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications: 1. have an earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP accredited program; or2. have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013; or 3. have been employed as a full-time doctoral-level faculty member in a CORE-accredited master’s program prior to July 1, 2017; or 4. have graduated from a rehabilitation doctoral program prior to January 1, 2018Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) preferred. Teaching at the university-level and counseling/clinical experience is required; supervision experience is preferred. ABD will be considered but a doctorate degree must be conferred prior to the start date. All candidates should have experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to working in multicultural and urban settings.

COMPENSATION

Salary commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience

Salary range:

Doctoral Lecturer:$75,215- $88,998
