JPMorgan Chase Managing Director, Technology Sponsor Finance in New York, New York

As a Managing Director on the Technology Sponsor Finance coverage team, you will be a key contributor in building a best-in-class platform covering our Technology-focused private equity clients. The Team is responsible for originating and executing leveraged finance transactions in support of our client's leveraged buy out, mergers and acquisitions and recapitalization opportunities by utilizing J.P. Morgan's deep and broad platform, including our Direct Lending, Debt Capital Markets and mergers and acquisitions capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

Technology Sponsor Finance is looking for a Managing Director to be a key contributor in building a dedicated best-in-class platform with responsibilities for cultivating and targeting financial sponsor relationships, deal origination and execution, and strategic initiatives. Managing Director responsibilities will include:

  • Covering assigned Sponsors, principally fostering relationships with Capital Markets professionals of covered Sponsors, in collaboration with other sponsor coverage teams

  • Originating LBO, M&A and recapitalization financing opportunities through cultivating relationships

  • Leading the structuring, negotiation and execution of originated debt financings

  • Managing team due diligence on originated financing opportunities and overseeing development of screening memorandum and financial modeling/analysis

  • Coordinating the credit origination, execution, and portfolio management process with colleagues across the J.P. Morgan platform

  • Building and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the Technology sector and associated financing markets

  • Developing and mentoring the Technology Sponsor Finance junior team members

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 15+ years of Financial Sponsor Coverage or equivalent experience lending to middle market Technology companies

  • Strong credit skills, including experience executing both annualized recurring revenue (ARR) and cash flow credit transactions. Extensive knowledge of financial statements and accounting methods, including preparation and analysis of financial models

  • Significant experience with M&A and debt financing in support of those transactions

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Personal integrity, initiative, and leadership qualities

  • Capacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contact

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent.

  • FINRA Series 79, Series 63, Series 24 and SIE required (or obtained in first 90 days of employment)
