Citigroup Investment Banking Associate in New York, New York

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. seeks an Investment Banking Associate for its New York, New York location.

Duties: Conduct quantitative analyses of information involving investment programs or financial data of public or private institutions, including valuation of businesses. Provide strategic corporate finance advisory for institutional clients in Technology and Industrial sectors. Advise corporate and financial institution clients globally on full spectrum of corporate finance issues: valuation, capital structure, credit ratings, risk management, liability management, shareholder distributions, acquisition and funding strategies. Provide client advisory on corporate finance topics such as capital raising, risk management, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), capital structure, valuation, and capital deployment. Create financial analyses by building, running and interpreting financial models such as valuation, M&A scenarios, and pro-forma analyses to explore corporate finance solutions. Review and build statistical analytics using R, Stata, and Python. Utilize financial data platforms including Bloomberg, FactSet, Dealogic, Capital IQ and SDC to perform data analysis. Analyze and interpret financial statements and credit rating analysis based on public rating agency methodologies including S&P and Moody’s. Adapt cost of capital and valuation methodologies to complex situations. Perform analysis in excel and statistical software to answer client questions on corporate finance topics. Collect and analyze data from financial statements to provide senior management with key credit metrics. Gather data from public sources and data systems to aid in research and analysis. Ensure data follows required formats and are correctly adjusted where needed. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent, in Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field and 3 years of experience as an Investment Banking Analyst, Financial Analyst, or related position involving strategic advisory services for corporate and financial institution clients. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the stated fields and 5 years of the specified progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. 3 years of experience must include: Credit rating analytics; Financial modelling; Financial data and analytics platforms: S&P Capital IQ, Moody's Analytics and Bloomberg; Capital raising and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). 2 years of experience must include: Corporate finance models: cash flow models, ratings models, fair value of debt and warrant option models; MS Office Suite.
