The RXR platform manages 93 commercial real estate properties and investments with an aggregate gross asset value of approximately $18 billion, comprising approximately 30.5 million square feet of commercial properties, a multi-family residential portfolio of approximately 9,400 units under operation or development, and control of development rights for an additional approximately 3,000 multi-family and for sale units as of December 31, 2023. Gross asset value compiled by RXR in accordance with company fair value measurement policy and is comprised of capital invested by RXR and its partners, as well as leverage.

RXR Construction Services ("RCS"), a division of RXR, offers comprehensive construction management and supervision services tailored to residential and commercial properties. Specializing in design, construction supervision, and management, RCS collaborates closely with RXR to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards. From capital expenditures and tenant improvements to major projects and third-party construction management, RCS provides expert guidance and oversight at every stage.

Reporting to the SVP, Corporate Controller of RXR, the RCS Assistant/Controller will provide oversight and play a pivotal leadership role in planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial reporting and operations -related activities of RCS. Collaborating closely with RXR’s Corporate Controller, Chief Accounting and Risk Management Officer and the entire RCS senior leadership team, the RCS Assistant/Controller will spearhead and execute the long-term financial objectives and goals of RCS. We seek a dynamic accounting and finance professional who possesses strong leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills, fostering a culture of openness and transparency within the organization. The RCS Assistant/Controller will possess strategic capabilities and will be responsible for supporting the creation, implementation, and making critical decisions around, policies and procedures that impact the financial health of RCS, while upholding the highest level of integrity.

This position is located in New York, NY, with potential to split time in Uniondale, NY, if desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional, people-focused leadership of the RCS Project Accounting and Financial Accounting teams (approximately 9 employees).

  • Lead the team in executing all efforts related to RCS accounting (including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash apps, etc.), financial reporting, analysis, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual reporting including the development and production of internal reports to assist management and executive teams

  • Govern RCS cash management operations.

  • Collaborate with the RCS senior leadership team, project managers and FP&A team to develop accurate and realistic project forecasts.

  • Develop, implement, and enhance financial controls, guidelines and documentation

  • Lead change management efforts, in a collaborative manner.

  • Assist the Corporate Risk Manager in administering insurance programs including Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs (CCIP) and other risk management activities.

  • Recruit, train and mentor new and existing staff as needed, leveraging leadership expertise to create a vision and align the team to achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the construction industry.

  • CPA certification is preferred.

  • Understanding of the strategic, operational, and financial components of a construction management business.

  • Strong proficiency in Sage, Timberline is required, and experience with ProCore and eBuilder is preferred.

  • Strong strategic leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and influence a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Commitment to upholding professional integrity and an impeccable work ethic.

  • Openness to adopting and exploring new technologies and platforms.

  • Ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles.

  • Experience with insurance (such as CCIP/OCIP) project administration and analysis.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities that inspire, influence, and develop team members.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and make effective and timely decisions

  • Self-motivated with a track record of taking initiative and personal responsibility to consistently deliver excellence.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish creative business strategic solutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook.
