Job Description

Customized Assistance Services (CAS) helps Human Resources Administration (HRA) clients with health and/or mental health conditions reach their highest attainable level of functioning and self-sufficiency by providing comprehensive, integrated, individualized clinical and supportive services. CAS works with other components of HRA and with other governmental and non-governmental service provides to create new programs and to integrate and refine existing services so the people it serves can achieve their maximum functional capacity.

Customized Assistance Services' (CAS) Office of Reasonable Accommodations is recruiting for one (1) Administrative Director of Social Services NM-1, to function as Deputy Director of Reasonable Accommodations, who will:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Reasonable Accommodations Division, which includes meeting regularly with divisional staff to ensure compliance with the division's goals and objectives; setting priorities, delineate work assignments and tasks; monitor staff progress; and ensures satisfactory performance of responsibilities and assignments. Provide technical expertise and guidance to staff.

  • Assist the Director in developing and implementing reasonable accommodations policies, procedures and practices that are in compliance with Federal, State, City laws and regulations, and the lovely H stipulation and incorporate best practice guidelines. Also, prepares and disseminates informational materials to HRA staff and clients explaining HRA's Reasonable Accommodations for individual clients as instructed.

  • Prepare and review administrative reports, memoranda, and other related correspondence, to provide information needed and/or keep executive management abreast of all aspect of the program. Advises executive management and other relevant parties, on issues impacting operations.

  • Assist in the coordination of training and technical assistance to HRA program areas and contractors concerning the legal rights of clients with functional limitations due to medical and/or mental health conditions and the types of reasonable accommodations for individual clients, as instructed.

  • Attend meetings and serves as the CAS representative on disability issues to other governmental and non-governmental agencies, and perform special projects as requested by the Director.

Qualifications

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services; or

  2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and the one year of experience at the administrative or management level as described in "1" above.
