As American Express continues along an impressive growth trajectory, the company is preparing for heightened capital requirements as well as additional changes in capital as a result of Basel III Endgame (B3E). American Express has launched Project Fast Forward to enhance its processes and to ensure we meet regulatory expectations across the company. The Capital Enterprise Management Organization (CEMO) within the Global Treasury group is responsible for leading enterprise-wide stress testing initiatives including the Company’s Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) as well as other regulatory capital projects with a focus on integrating evolving business and regulatory needs.

As a member of CEMO, the Analyst will focus on the development and execution of data risk management, controls, and governance of the Company’s stress testing processes. The Analyst will have exposure to global stakeholders within Treasury, Controllership, Risk, Corporate Planning and Technology. This role provides the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of many key facets of the Company’s regulatory capital stress testing processes. This candidate will contribute to the success of AXP’s regulatory capital exercises by implementing a data governance process to ensure they are well-controlled and thoughtfully tailored to regulatory expectations. Responsibilities:

  • Execute a rigorous enterprise-wide data risk management and governance process for the Company’s CCAR process.

  • Work on development of regulatory reporting requirements to the Federal Reserve.

  • Assist independent review of the Company’s capital adequacy assessments.

  • Coordinate and execute process risk self-assessments (PRSA).

  • Evaluate current data governance processes and implement process enhancements as appropriate.

  • Develop and maintain stress testing documentation to reflect current procedures and responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proactive, highly organized with a strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver on multiple demands within deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret, analyze, and validate trends in data and scenarios.

  • A continuous improvement mindset and consistent record of driving process improvements.

  • Strong relationship management skills including the ability to collaborate with multiple business partners and colleagues to develop and validate results and recommendations.

  • Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Knowledge of regulatory and control environment, independent validation, and data management is preferable.

  • 1-3 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
