Amazon Engagement Lead, Sustainability, GPO in New York City, New York

Description

Are you looking for a unique opportunity to have a large impact in shaping Amazon's sustainability journey? Are you excited by sustainability, the future of our planet, and driving cross-functional initiatives to support the goals of the Global Procurement Operations (GPO) team? The GPO team is looking for an impact-driven and results-oriented leader to drive delivery of Amazon’s GPO sustainability goals globally and expand thought leadership for the company. You will drive coverage of our sustainability programs, and a coordinated One GPO approach to policy, engagement and communication.

This role will will collaborate cross-functionally across WW sustainability teams, procurement teams and suppliers. They will have strong judgment and effectively influence across the entire organization. In the immediate near-term they will also play a leading role in defining supplier expectations, and enabling and tracking supplier performance.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead and influence both internal stakeholders as well as key suppliers in an ambiguous environment, while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.

  • Develop comprehensive policies and codes of conduct including internal and external communication, signed off with PR and worldwide engagement teams.

  • Ensure procurement leaders and suppliers establish targets aligned with Amazon’s Supply Chain Standards, including goal-setting and quantification of investment.

  • Collaborate closely with internal communications and PR teams and provide expertise to produce communication artifacts and incorporate stakeholder needs to ensure business objectives are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
