Google Junior ASIC Performance Architect, Silicon in New Taipei City, Taiwan

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in embedded system software development, test, and debug.

  • Experience with the Linux environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.

  • Experience with CPU, GPU, or fabric and memory system silicon system level test, verification, and failure analysis.

  • Experience with test automation and dashboard development.

  • Experience with on target hardware debug process (e.g., ICE debugging, RAM dump analysis, error exception).

  • Experience with Android Bootloader.

  • Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Python, etc.).

Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google's services. As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

With your technical expertise, you lead projects in multiple areas of expertise (i.e., engineering domains or systems) within a data center facility, including construction and equipment installation/troubleshooting/debugging with vendors.

  • Design and develop scalable and reliable automated tests and frameworks for testing embedded hardware SoCs.

  • Design and develop test plans to characterize silicon Vmin and Fmax to temperature, voltage droop across process corners, and keep improving the test coverage and test efficiency.

  • Develop failure analysis methodology and flow to narrow down or root cause the weak point to improve power and performance, and feedback to next generation product.

  • Construct and operate the dashboard to timely update project status.
