Position Overview:

  • This role is offering an exceptional opportunity to work within a progressive organization with a team of dedicated professionals. This position is responsible for ensuring the adherence to established quality practices of Harsco Rail, implementing new procedures where needed, and executing the quality inspection and checks internally and as well as with external suppliers, and partners.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments and corrective actions in a timely and accurate manner

  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.

  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs summarize re-work and waste, and inputs data into a quality database.

  • Conduct quality audits as per FAI and KC at vendor location(s) and random on-site warehouse audits.

  • Execute Supplier Quality audits as per the Harsco template with the support of more senior 3rd Party Auditors that Harsco India may engage.

  • Be part of the team in the development of the Quality Process in India, in alignment with the standard practices in the United States.

  • Execute tactical actions with the ability to think strategically and the potential to grow into a senior role over time.

  • Customer interfacing | management | troubleshooting.

  • Five (5) years of experience working in heavy industries, mining, and other engineering sector may be considered in lieu of MOW (Railway Machines and maintenance).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage conflicting priorities in order to meet deadlines.

  • A minimum of 3+ years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (automotive, heavy equipment, or heavy custom “make to order” industries).

  • Solid knowledge of and demonstrated experience with Weld Quality assessment.

  • Experience in the establishment and maintenance of effective and timely working relationships with internal/external stakeholders to ensure day-to-day requirements/expectations are met.

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of ISO 9001.

  • Strong demonstrated experience in data analytics and report writing skills with the ability to adapt to various key stakeholders.

  • Computer skills – proficient with MS Office, ERP systems (demonstrated ability to learn), and data analytics.

Desirable:

  • Five to seven (5 - 7) years or more international experience in Railway Projects or alternately 5 years or more experience working with MNC.
