The Position

Radiological Technologists operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of various anatomical parts as prescribed by a physician; take and develop radiographs; process exposed film; instruct and assist patients during procedure.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

The Nevada Department of Corrections has a vacancy for a Radiology Technician at Lovelock Correctional Center, in Lovelock, Nevada. This position requires the operation of x-ray equipment and to produce radiographs as prescribed by a physician. Take and develop radiographs, process exposed film, instruct and assist patients during the procedure. Must be ale to maintain radiological supplies and equipment. Order chemical and supplies. Complete statistical reports, log patient and testing information, and record information and submit to supervisor for internal record keepign purposes. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is located at Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nevada. Incumbents must be willing to work in this rural area, located 90 miles north of Reno, Nevada. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Graduation from a two-year program in x-ray technology and two years of experience working as a radiological technologist; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Special Requirements

Licensure by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
