Responsibilities

Software tester required to enhance the quality of our web applications which deliver geophysical data from rig site to data centre and client’s office. Responsible for designing and performing appropriate tests as well as risk-based security tests. This will involve both manual and automated testing. Working closely with a small but quickly expanding department that plays a key role within our global business. We develop state of the art software that deals with the full geophysical data lifecycle, from acquisition via hardware through to processing and interpretation and finally client delivery. We are also currently in the process of moving our systems from desktop applications to cloud-based solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the security testing approach within the department. You will be working on a range of innovative projects using the latest technologies and encouraged to find and leverage new technologies for the benefit of the software being developed.

  • Identify test requirements from business requirements

  • Plan and execute tests on applications across different environments and platforms

  • Maintain Selenium UI tests

  • Design and perform appropriate risk-based security tests

  • Identify areas of improvement in the testing domain

  • Review security scans and assess severity of any issues identified

  • Keep up to date with the latest security vulnerabilities and proactively identify issues with our systems

  • Write and deliver reports on completed tests

  • Work collaboratively with project managers, developers and subject matter experts

  • Research, identify, validate and implement new technologies and methodologies

  • Communicate threat, vulnerabilities and risk to stakeholders

  • Abide by the company’s health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in security testing

  • Working knowledge of C# and Selenium

  • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies, tools, methodologies in security testing

  • Ability to use security testing tools such as NMAP, Nessus, Burp Suite, OWASP

  • Interest in Cyber Security with an understanding of key concepts

  • Experience testing web and mobile applications

  • Familiarity with web-based security concepts/technologies: OAuth, JWTs, etc

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent problem solving skills
