Payroll GPO Operations Manager

This position reports into Director GPO Payroll/T&A and is based at Paranaque, Philippines.

The GPO Operations Manager is responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient operation of the payroll function and department, including generating, distributing, and reporting payrolls, coordinating with the Tax department for compliance, overseeing maintenance of payroll system, and developing a high-performance team.

What you will do

The GPO Operations Manager is responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient operation of the payroll function and department, including generating, distributing, and reporting payrolls, coordinating with the Tax department for compliance, overseeing maintenance of payroll system, and developing a high-performance team:

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a high-class team of individuals for a successful global payroll process transformation to the Philippines.

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize GPO payroll operations and ensure efficient and effective delivery of services within the Hub model.

  • Oversee and manage a team of professionals to ensure adherence to quality standards and timely completion of projects.

  • Manage and plan resource allocation within given capacity model.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address operational challenges and opportunities for improvement.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to measure the success of GPO operations and identify areas for optimization.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to ensure GPO operations remain competitive and innovative.

  • Develop and implement procedures and policies to enhance and maintain effectiveness of payroll function.

  • Provide cross-functional project leadership and oversight for project and execution at vendor(s)

  • Establish and manage deployment of service management and operational metrics framework for vendor(s)

  • Lead cadenced operational reviews with vendor and process area and ensure consistent operational reporting.

  • Oversee cash, business plan forecasting and budget development.

  • Ensure the preparation and distribution of timely and accurate operating/financial statements to both internal management and external users.

  • Review established accounting practices and procedures and recommend changes in and additions to such practices and procedures.

  • Implement changes to accounting practices and procedures where applicable.

Qualifications

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of related experience in managing payroll function.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Toolset including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.

  • Demonstrated ability in budget management.

  • Excellent knowledge and deep experience across general accounting processes and associated connections with Finance

Desired Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in payroll operations management or a related field

  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address operational challenges

  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and best practices in payroll operations management

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams

  • Ability to influence cross-functionally (Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal & IT)

  • Stakeholder management experience; influencing and collaborating skills

  • Embodies strong interpersonal, consultative, communication and facilitation skills

  • Understanding of procurement transitions (including historical shifts in the industry) preferred

  • Ability to operate in complex environments with timelines

  • Creative, flexible, and adaptable leader with an agile and continuous improvement approach that thrives in a fast-pace, multi-faced environment
