Job Summary and Qualifications

The CDI Quality Assurance Analyst will perform quality analysis audits of the Clinical Documentation Integrity program. This involves assessing the work performed by the CDI staff for the Concurrent Review and Query function following established policies and procedures. The QA Analyst will remain current with HCA CDI standards, guidelines, and processes. As an essential element to the overall success of the CDI Quality Program, the QA Analyst will consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. The QA Analyst may also assist with medical record reviews or focused audits as requested by leadership.

In addition to demonstrating consistent performance of all CDI functions, the QA Analyst will:

  • Analyze cases for compliance to CDI concurrent review and query processes as outlined within the confines of the CDI standards.

  • Demonstrate and apply an expert level of knowledge of CDI processes, concepts, and applications.

  • Document the quality of reviews and assess the QA processes in the Audit tools.

  • Utilize critical thinking skills for medical review and strong writing skills for summarizing results of the audits performed.

  • Possess excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Be proficient in the applications used by the department. The extensive knowledge and effective use of multiple applications, systems, and resources, including, but not limited to WebEx Teams, Electronic Health Records, Iodine, 3M, SharePoint, HPF, MPF and MEDITECH Scanning & Archive.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, show initiative, and work with minimal supervision in a work-from-home environment.

Self-Development:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in current and emerging technologies.

  • Excellent personal computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Office, Excel, EMR, 3M, Iodine and other related software).

  • Independently take proactive steps toward problem resolution.

  • Complete all mandatory and assigned education by established deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare experience

  • 3+ years of experience in inpatient CDI

  • Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse or any credential nationally recognized as administered through AHIMA or ACDIS

  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or Cert Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or Registered Nurse
