SGI Global, LLC Policy Unit Outreach Analyst in México D.F., Mexico

SGI Global LLC is seeking fluent Spanish speaking a Policy Unit Outreach Analyst to support the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Mexico City, Mexico, which requires professional and administrative support services to work with the U.S. Foreign Assistance Program to Mexico.

Responsibilities:

  • The position is in Mexico City, Mexico. Travel to other locations in Mexico, the United States and other countries may be required.

  • Provides expert services related to designing effective and impactful communication strategies for INL programs.

  • Assists INL Outreach team in facilitating events, programs, donation ceremonies, and trainings, travel, donations, and high-level meetings with stakeholders or any other related activities.

  • Participate in conferences and workshops, on the Bicentennial Framework on Security, Public Health, and Safe Communities.

  • Works with INL program teams to plan and execute outreach events, including drafting speeches and talking points and managing event logistics.

  • Prepares and delivers correspondence, reports, presentations, media monitoring and analysis of public opinion, and social media postings in both English and Spanish.

  • Maintain and update INL state fact sheets and tracking systems on INL donations, trainings.

  • Update records in the Training Tracking System (TTS) for Mexican beneficiaries of USG assistance from the consular district. Nominate candidates from the consular district for INL trainings and events and confirm Leahy and/or local vetting status for participation in said trainings and events.

  • Provide information and public reporting to the Embassy's Vetting Unit that may affect the vetting status of Mexican beneficiaries of USG assistance. Track outstanding Leahy issues for possible resolution that would expand potential INL recipients in the consular district.

  • Incumbent will be required to perform other duties within scope as assigned by the Program Manager.

    Qualifications:

  • Mexican or Third Country National.

  • English FSI level 3/3.

  • Spanish FSI level 4/4.

  • Bachelor's Degree in political science, law, international relations, communications, or journalism.

  • A combination of five (5) years of progressive professional experience in communications, marketing/advertising, or media relations, as well as those with strong writing skills, with a minimum of three (3) years' progressive work experience in public affairs, public relations, public outreach, administration, government, community development is required.

  • Ability to pass a U.S. Embassy RSO security background check.

  • Ability to deal effectively with senior U.S. and GOM officials.

  • Experience in drafting and authoring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook; mainstream social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter). Publisher or other infographic/design capabilities is a plus.
