Tidelands Health Employee Health Laboratory Nurse (RN) in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

Position Summary : The Employee Health LAB RN will provide necessary services to the employee partners of Tidelands Health, as well as students, volunteers, and contract workers, to assure that they remain healthy and are able to conduct their working responsibilities in a safe and sanitary manner in accordance with hospital policy. Provides employee health services such as post offer health screenings, drug testing, immunizations and vaccination programs, and medical surveillance programs. Provides other services including injury assessment, Return-to-Work

assessments, employee education, continuous process improvement, and regulatory compliance. Administers all healthcare required vaccines in correlation with CDC recommendations and per Medical Director approved protocol.

Participates in various health system committees and campaigns. Provides specimen collection/venous lab collections for new hires, random/suspected impairment or Diversion UDS, post-accident lab needs, volunteers, wellness, and other specimen collection as needed. Registers for lab specimen collection and orders the specimens to be collected. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) OR Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with 1-3 years of Full-Time Employee Health/Occupational Health experience preferred. 1-3 years of experience with Critical Care/Med/Surg will be highly considered.

• Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), preferred.

Experience :

• One to three (1-3) years of Employee Health/Occupational Health preferred. Critical Care/Med/Surg background will be highly considered.

• RN experience with adult patients required.

•1-3 year experience in phlebotomy and specimen collection

License/Certification :

• Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing.

• American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational Development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.

•ACLS preferred

Skills :

• Strong PC skills includes MS office programs.

• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

•Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills

Other :

Must be flexible to rotate between both Tidelands WCH and Tidelands GMH Employee Health offices.

Must be flexible and able to travel throughout all Tidelands Health properties.

Physical Requirements : Light-Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 15 to 20 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or 5 to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
