Morgan Stanley India Corporate Affairs Professional, Director in Mumbai, India

Overview

Morgan Stanley is recruiting for a Director role within the Corporate Affairs function, to be based in Mumbai, India.

Reporting to the India head of Corporate Affairs, and working closely with the India, regional and global team, this individual will help develop and execute the Firm's Corporate Affairs strategy in India, supporting Morgan Stanley's India businesses, as well as the Firm's Global Centers (GCs) in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Responsibilities

The individual will help develop and execute the India communications strategy, focusing on internal communications and employer branding, and employee engagement initiatives, to improve connectivity across business units and within the global Firm.

Internal Communications

  • Support in developing and implementing effective internal communications strategies for Morgan Stanley in India.
  • Execution of the strategy to include various internal communications channels and tactics such as through the global intranet MSToday, email memos, bulletins and newsletters, JIVE intranet platform blog posts etc.
  • Building story telling narratives and developing collaterals working with the in-house creative team
  • Maintain governance and guidelines to ensure streamlining of the communications is established.
  • Assist in supporting India Firm Management, India GC management, and other key internal clients on communications and engagement strategies, initiatives, and events.
  • Coordination of senior management townhalls and leadership sessions
  • Lead the planning and execution of key firm-wide initiatives and milestones.
  • Creating / managing content for digital screens across office locations
  • Advising and working with various Employee Network & Committees (ENCs), and business unit COOs on internal campaigns to ensure a more coordinated and consistent outcome.
  • An ability to plan and coordinate Firmwide events, vendor management, and employee engagement.

Community Affairs

  • Lead the collaboration with India Philanthropy Committee to drive participation and engagement for various Firm initiatives like Global Volunteer Month (GVM), year-round volunteering initiatives etc.
  • Working with the global and regional Community Affairs team on project planning, tracking, reporting and data management, and communications during the campaign
  • Step up CSR communications internally and externally and support potential new programs

Qualifications and Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following professional experience and personal qualities:

  • 8 years of experience in internal communications, CSR, and media relations. Preferably across multiple disciplines.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication and presentation skills are essential. Strong knowledge of communication practices and techniques.
  • Ability to use digital media to enhance messaging.
  • Proven experience creating targeted content is advantageous.
  • An ability to design and create content on an online platform to include intranet, SharePoint etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to interact and influence multiple partners and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, analytical, and client service oriented with an ability to work across various corporate, non-profit and public audiences.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills; attention to detail a must.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter, resourceful, and a team player with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Desire to learn and grow in the role.
  • Professional and able to work with integrity, respect, and confidentiality.

Core Experience

  • A priority will be familiarity with managing internal communications programs.
  • Other core experience to include managing community affairs, philanthropy and CSR programs.
  • Familiarity with integrated marketing, including specific hands-on experience of digital and social media.
  • Experience in a corporate environment preferred.
