Google Strategy and Operations Lead, Strategic Narratives in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 6 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate advisory, or 4 years of experience with an advanced degree.

  • Experience in executive communication.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA, graduate degree, or equivalent practical experience in technical, quantitative, or business field.

  • 6 years of experience in corporate strategy, sales operations, management consulting, investment banking/private equity/venture capital, or equivalent experience in a technology/media company

  • Ability to understand and articulate the “big picture" to executive teams, with exceptional attention to execution details.

  • Ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives with measurable results.

  • Excellent problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills with ability to facilitate meetings with executives and partner across multiple functions in an organization.

  • Program management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The Business Strategy & Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

This role sits within our Global Business Strategy and Operations (GBS&O) team, responsible for providing insightful review, perspective, and direction on the strategy and operating performance of Google’s Global Business Organization (GBO).

The function comprises critical strategic and operational teams that accelerate Google’s performance including Chief of Staff team that supports GBO, GTM and GBS&O, GBO/GTM strategy and analytics, and Ads Policy, Risk and Compliance. GBS&O is part of the Global Go-to-Market (GTM) organization that ensures Google's complex business is pursuing the best strategy and executing flawlessly.

As the Strategy and Operations Lead, you will be a key player in supporting effectiveness and driving clear, cohesive narratives, processes, and programs that land business and cultural transformation. You will be responsible for developing compelling, data-driven narratives that motivate teams, empower leaders, clarify expectations and priorities, and set the tone for GBO’s culture. You’ll also lead time-sensitive projects and initiatives for GBO leadership and distill complex findings into polished presentations with actionable insights for senior executives and global teams. You will utilize a combination of strategic thinking, creativity, and pragmatism in accomplishing goals and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, People Operations, Marketing, and Communications teams to ensure seamless execution and maximum impact.

The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Support the development and execution of strategic narratives that connect the dots and land change management across Google’s highly complex global business organization.

  • Support internal and customer engagements for Google’s Chief Business Offer and GBO leadership.

  • Lead and contribute to time-critical projects for GBO leaders by quickly understanding context and developing a prioritized scope and approach for resolution in ambiguous situations, then driving to action.

  • Communicate actionable insights to executive leadership by preparing and delivering executive-ready presentations and briefs.

  • Work cross-functionally and build alignment with Finance, People Operations, Marketing, and Communications teams to scope, manage, and execute strategic projects.
