We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Supply Chain Planning Analyst in Morton, IL.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. Job Summary

The Supply Chain Planning Analyst role serves as a performance lead for Logistics Analysts on the Global Parts Supply Team.

Additional Info:

  • This role is based in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation.

  • This role requires up to 10% domestic travel

What You Will Do:

  • Support and provide guidance for a team of Logistics Analysts and Technicians which face Caterpillar suppliers supporting Aftermarket demand requirements.

  • Perform work to achieve supply chain performance targets focused on backorders, estimated ship dates, Supplier Shipping Performance (SSP), past due schedules.

  • Execute schedule adjustments through collaboration, order min/mults, Economic Order Quantities (EOQs), lost or misdirected shipments, transportation/Freight Order Management (FOM) issues, Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) issues, Engineering/Change (E/C) level or material code changes, backorder escalation, and all other supplier issues impacting performance targets

  • Grief resolution

  • Product Group/Purchasing/Marketing and Dealer inquiries

  • Execute Monthly Supplier Shipping Performance Process

  • Identifies and leads initiatives to improve the supply-chain process.

  • Participate in all projects and meetings to support performance targets improvements and Operating Profit After Capital Change (OPACC) improvement initiatives

What You Have (Basic Skills Required):

  • Technical Excellence: Extensive knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. Technologies include PartsViz, MRC (Material Replenishment Collaboration), and SAP/SPM (Service Parts Management) as applies to schedules and supplier collaboration.

  • Business Process Improvement : Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities. Ability to ramp up quickly within a new environment with a strong customer service focus.

  • Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment

  • Knowledge and understanding of project management principles

  • Solid supply chain planning, demand and orders, logistics and manufacturing knowledge

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or related quantitative field

  • Association for Supply Chain Management Certified in Production and Inventory Management (APICS CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSPC) National Certification, or 6 Sigma and/or Lean Project experience

  • Excellent leadership skills within global cross functional teams.

  • Understanding Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems’ lead time elements (supply chain, manufacturing and marketing)

  • End-to-end supply base understanding, including customers and dealers

  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially those with supplier impact
