Work You'll Do

As a Senior Consultant, you will help lead and deliver small engagements, or components of large, complex engagements for Power, Utilities & Renewables clients as you work on engagements in a team-based environment, partnering directly with clients, fellow Operations and Technology Transformation professionals, and Deloitte consultants from complementary disciplines. In this role, you will help lead workstreams within the context of a larger engagement and support the overall success of projects through a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Manage aspects of deliverables for Advanced Distribution Infrastructure programs and/or DERMS/DER systems implementation and integration projects including architectural specifications, use case development, requirements gathering, design specification, test plans, and test cases.

  • Overseeing the quality of deliverables, effectively leading and mentoring junior team members and managing client counterpart relationships

  • Participating in functional and technical workshops, contributing to the development of functional requirements and collaborating with teams and vendors to help clients transform and converge legacy processes

  • Partnering with clients as a trusted advisor to bring DERMS and DER industry domain expertise to a variety of projects

  • Participating in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities.

  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior professionals as they manage large, confidential and complex data sets

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 4 + years' experience working with Utilities clients or experience working with in the Utilities sector

  • 4+ years' experience implementing DER/DERMS solutions or utility smart grid implementation or utility distribution/ capacity planning

  • 2 + years of functional and technical solution implementation experience

  • Experience with power distribution systems and networks and/or experience working with electric distribution network model

  • Knowledge of utility standards such as IEEE 1547, CIM 61968 / 61970, Open ADR , SEP2.0, IEEE 2030.5, etc.

  • Experience with Software Implementation Delivery Methodology like Waterfall or Agile

  • Experience leading teams of 3 or more direct reports

  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, through tools like Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word

  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Visio and Power BI

  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

    Preferred Skills

  • Advanced Degree

  • Deep technology and application knowledge of energy storage, solar, electric vehicle charging and other distributed energy resources (DER)

  • Experience with utility real-time solutions such as DERMS, ADMS, OMS, DMS, D-SCADA, GIS or EMS

  • Experience with utility network model and engineering analysis

  • Consulting experience

  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP and/or microservice architectures

  • Experience managing project financials to successfully deliver projects while maintaining deliverable quality and team morale

  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and trouble shooting skills, with the ability to exercise mature judgement

  • Collaborative nature and willingness to share knowledge and insights across broader cross-functional teams and contributing to development of reusable collateral

  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior client stakeholders, project sponsors and client teams

  • Aptitude for process improvement, with an ability to identify opportunities to improve the deliver process, reduce/troubleshoot issues, and improve client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $137,700 to $229,500.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
