Atlantic Health System HIM Coder - IP in Morristown, New Jersey
This job can be done remote in most US States
Responsible for coding inpatient medical records according to coding guidelines to ensure accurate and timely codes for bills to be processed. Reviews medical record documentation, assigns appropriate ICD 10 diagnostic and procedural codes, and investigates and resolves diagnosis coding issues. Assists in the maintenance of client billing records and statistics.
Principal Accountabilities:
Assigns codes in accordance with ICD - 10 CM and PCS, and coding guidelines to provide accurate code capture and reimbursement and analysis of quality of care.
Investigates and resolves coding issues.
Acts as a liaison between coding guidelines and codes.
Post Physican queries thru the Iodine Interact platform
Maintains 95% accuracy in DRG and overall quality.
Works with our CDI nurses to ensure accurate code capture.
Maintains productivity standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
AHIMA coding certification- CCS
Minimum 2-3 years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, disease processes.
Proficiency in ICD-10 coding and DRG methodology
Preferred:
- Prior EPIC and 3M360 CAC experience preferred.
