Atlantic Health System Biomedical Technician Supervisor in Morristown, New Jersey

The BMET Supervisor will oversee the daily operations and coordination of all aspects of customer service for Atlantic Health’s offsite locations. Reports department performance and issues to the Manager on a weekly basis or as necessary. This position requires travel as required to support the needs of our customers. Will be supervising 3 employees.

Review patient care equipment incident reports and recommend corrective action to Manager.

Assure the completion of preventive maintenance inspections to meet regulatory standards.

Significant working knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology with emphasis in clinical application and troubleshooting.

Possesses the ability to follow manufacturer's procedures for preventive maintenance inspection, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification procedures on medical equipment; including but not limited to all non-high risk and high risk medical equipment.

Work with, direct, and document the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery and vendor documentation.

Assists Manager with the implementation of Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) , The Joint Commission, NFPA and other regulatory agencies' standards.

Assists Manager with maintaining documentation, policies & procedures, and that staff assessment tools are current an updated.

Assures service completed and documentation submitted is accurate, complete, and timely. Can review all BMET technician documentation for the same.

Can successfully resolve complex customer service issues, complaints, and escalated issues from all

BMET technicians.

Performs and coordinates special assignments to accommodate medical equipment installations and department inspections without interrupting clinical operations.

Interacts with customers in a timely manner.

Coordinates available resources to support customer requests.

Possesses knowledge of clinical equipment systems.

Possesses knowledge of project management terms and methods.

Qualifications for Internal Candidates

Experience: Minimum 7 years experience in the field with 2 years field service preferred. Three years of supervisory experience required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Science or Technology (BMET/EET). Associate’s degree or military trained (BMET) Biomedical Equipment Technician with extensive, demonstrable, and documented experience in the field will be considered.

Technical Skills and Experience:

Possesses knowledge and skills related to medical equipment systems and devices.

Ability to manage a mixed team of direct reports/OEM Vendor/3rd Party field service.

Possesses knowledge of medical PCs, peripherals, medical network hardware and clinical network applications.

Proven ability to work with multiple departments to meet various AHS objectives.
