Eaton Corporation Training Specialist - Power Systems Automation in Moon Township, Pennsylvania

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Training Specialist - Power Systems Automation.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

A Training Specialist of the Power Systems Automation(PSA) organization designs and develops instructor-led and Web-based training and acts as the main support for the lead instructor for PSA training programs given to Eaton employees and customers.

The Power Systems Automation group is a full-service systems integrator with the capabilities to integrate the necessary equipment and technologies, to provide a complete, power automation solution. This team of engineers and technicians brings extensive skills and experiences with a variety of leading HMI software packages enabling us to design graphically rich, easy-to-use operator interfaces that take advantage of the latest standalone or web-based technologies. Our experience transcends a multitude of equipment manufacturers, software packages, and network architectures, including all major OEMs HMI, PLCs, and components. We offer single point responsibility, a high level of engineering and systems integration expertise, and a unified focus on cost effective solutions, seamless integration, HMI development, energy management tools, and professional turnkey system design and implementation.

The successful candidate for this role should:

  • Possess Technical Expertise: Have in-depth knowledge of electrical power distribution system components, including power circuit breaker assemblies, motor control centers, unit-substation and power transformers, protective relays, and motors. Also, have a strong understanding of the application of switchgear, transformers, and motors in electrical power systems.

  • Understand Safety Standards: Be well-versed in safe-work practices as described in National Fire Protection Association Standard 70E and OSHA 29CFR1910 Subpart R and Subpart S.

  • Demonstrate Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Ability to interface effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including customers, salespeople, and team members.

  • Maintain Technical and Industry Knowledge: Regularly update personal technical skills and industry knowledge, particularly in areas like industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP), computer skills, networking, power quality meters, and diagnostic instruments.

  • Comply with Safety and Legal Standards: Adhere to company's safety program and be willing to undergo periodic customer-required background and drug screenings.

In this position you will;

  • Develop and Update Training Curriculums for Power Systems Automation: Create, maintain, and regularly update training materials and curriculums in line with industry standards and technological advancements.

  • Collaborate for Training Excellence: Work closely with product-line managers and factory reliability engineers to incorporate latest product features and technical specifications into training programs.

  • Coordinate and Conduct Training Sessions: Manage all aspects of training events including scheduling, logistics, equipment, and material preparation. Conduct comprehensive training sessions for both internal employees and customers(at Eaton Facility and Customer Facilities)

  • Support Sales Team with Training Opportunities: Assist Service Sales Engineers in identifying and implementing training opportunities for customers.

  • Evaluate and Enhance Training Programs: Responsible for conducting evaluations and continuously seeking opportunities to improve course content and cost-efficiency.

  • Maintain the ability to lift, move and set up demonstration equipment of various weight up to 40 pounds and move demonstration equipment on wheels weighing in excess of 40 pounds.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 40% of the time.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 3 years developing or instructing technical curriculum

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

  • Knowledge and understanding of classroom presentation skills, technical writing skill, and an understanding of adult learning styles.

  • Must have excellent communication, business analytical and problem-solving skills.
