Behind the scenes, but ahead of the curve: help us develop the next-generation public broadcaster.
Created in 2015 to align, lighten and modernize infrastructure, the Technology & Infrastructure (T & I) team is the backbone and the future forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada. We are the people that make stuff work. We make connections; between media content, systems, people and places. We are the space in between.
A place with purpose. CBC/Radio-Canada has always been a highly regarded pioneer of media technology. Not just in Canada, but around the world. Today, we’re transforming ourselves from conventional radio and television broadcaster into a modern digital media company. Technology is the driving force and we are the team making it happen.
This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.
Your role
As Senior Coordinator, Asset Management, you play a key role in implementing, developing and continuously improving processes related to IT asset lifecycle management at CBC/Radio-Canada. You are responsible for managing and optimizing the IT Asset Management module in the ServiceNow portal while ensuring data quality, system integrity and operational efficiency. This includes overseeing the entire asset lifecycle from procurement and reception to maintenance and disposal, including deployment and inventory management.
You will apply your ServiceNow expertise to maintaining, configuring and developing the Asset Management module in line with best technology practices, corporate policies and the organization’s changing needs. You will also identify and analyze recurring issues related to the organization’s IT ecosystem, propose effective solutions and actively contribute to process optimization.
Co-ordination and co-operation are central to your role. You are required to interact with various internal and external teams involved in IT asset management both in Canada and at our international offices, ensuring effective communication and on-time delivery, taking care to meet expectations and align practices. Additionally, you will provide high-level services to all business partners and stakeholders, addressing their inquiries and assisting with their needs. You will also maintain and optimize relationships with our suppliers, constantly seeking innovative solutions and improving the procurement and asset lifecycle management processes.
Your input into national technology projects is essential. You will help develop work plans, co-ordinate tasks, monitor risks and issues, and implement continuous improvement solutions. Your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and resolve the logistical and operational challenges that may arise during projects or operations will be a valuable asset.
You will:
Develop IT asset and mobility management solutions in conjunction with the ServiceNow teams.
Develop and implement tools and methods to automate asset monitoring and improve inventory data accuracy.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, propose innovative solutions and help enable positive change.
Analyze, develop and optimize the Hardware Asset Management module in ServiceNow: identify areas for improvement, and propose solutions to automate processes and boost efficiency.
Analyze hardware usage trends, optimize inventory levels and develop IT asset renewal strategies.
Carry out periodic reviews using monitoring, maintenance and auditing tools to ensure data quality and integrity.
Oversee device lifecycle management, from procurement to disposal, including reception, deployment and maintenance.
Monitor the technological assets inventory, conduct physical and virtual inventories, update asset information in ServiceNow and track equipment movement.
Develop and maintain technical and user documentation related to technology hardware standards and life cycles.
Identify and analyze inventory and procurement management processes to pinpoint weaknesses and bottlenecks, propose improvement initiatives, implement new processes and measure the impact of the changes.
Research and propose innovative solutions to optimize supplier relationships and improve procurement processes.
Work closely with other T&I Expertise Centre and Maintenance senior co-ordinators (national and international offices) to analyze, align, optimize and develop new workflows.
Help manage meeting room hardware solutions, including Chromeboxes and Android TVs.
Lead working groups, facilitate communication and collaboration between teams, and ensure that information and best practices are shared.
Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and help assess their performance.
Manage business partner satisfaction by responding to and proactively following up on their requests.
Develop and maintain comprehensive and accessible technical documentation for support groups and users.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or college diploma in IT support, business data processing or the equivalent.
