Kadiak LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Registered Dietitian to support Kadiak and our government customer at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a baccalaureate degree

  • Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) or completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) accredited by the ACEND, or completion of a post- Baccalaureate degree Dietetic Internship Program of supervised practice (for a minimum of 1200 hours) accredited by ACEND.

  • Current registration with the Commission of Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within the past 5 years diet therapy

  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a dietitian in the state of Alabama.

  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Workers by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

  • Fluency in English (reading, speaking, and writing)

  • Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation, and Criminal History Background Check (CHBC)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute nutrition policy and program requirements in accordance with Air Force Surgeon General and Defense Health Agency (DHA) guidance

  • Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for patients enrolled at the 42 Medical Group Military Treatment Facility (MTF)

  • Employ adult learning behavior change theories and teaching techniques for individual nutrition interventions

  • Receive referrals of active-duty members enrolled in the Body Composition Improvement Program (BCIP)

  • Assist members who failed Body Composition Assessment (BCA) with nutrition interventions

  • Maintain data quality and patient encounter documentation in GENESIS electronic health system

  • Follow American Dietetic Association (ADA) Nutrition Care Process, ADA Nutrition Care Manual, and Air Force Dietetics Nutrition Care guidelines

  • Identify all facilities on the installation preparing, serving, and/or selling food

  • Evaluate local food environment using Military Nutrition Environment Assessment Tool (mNEAT) annually

  • Brief mNEAT results to leadership with recommendations to improve military nutrition environment

  • Provide nutrition guidance to Force Support Squadron (FSS) and Air University (AU) dining facility operators

  • Ensure menu options identify high-performance foods and drinks as per Go for Green (G4G) initiative\

  • Partner with Health Promotion staff for installation health and wellness events\

  • Serve as nutrition expert and coordinate nutrition programs among local leadership

  • Employ social marketing tools to meet program goals and objectives

  • Participate in teleconferences, working groups, review panels, symposiums, and related nutrition programs

  • Deliver briefings, educational sessions, seminars, and worksite wellness programs

  • Use basic computer applications for various tasks (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook)

  • May be required to travel for directed training and/or conferences

  • Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must be Up to date on immunizations

  • Annual Flu immunizations are required

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
