*Summary*

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is seeking a Financial Data Analyst for its Business and Financial Operations (BFO) department for its Monroeville, PA location, which is located just a few miles from Pittsburgh. You will have the ability to work a hybrid schedule, performing your work at BPMI's Monroeville, PA office, and telework on an as-needed basis, depending on personal and business needs.

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is a project engineering organization supporting the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program. BPMI provides designs, manufacturing, supply chain management, and field support of nuclear power plant components installed in submarines and aircraft carriers. In addition, BPMI provides upgraded replacement components in support of refueling and overhaul activities, and aids in the ultimate storage and disposition of spent naval fuel. BPMI also delivers information technology and operational solutions to the Nuclear Navy, enabling them to fulfill their critical mission.

 

 

  • Prepares internal and external reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends from various systems.
  • Improve quality and information value of data analysis and reports. Apply knowledge to evaluation, analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, dashboards, and BI solutions.
  • Analyze and validate data and test accuracy of dashboards and other data solutions.
  • Accurately translate requirements into data solutions for reporting purposes.
  • Analyze data to identify known and unknown data relationships and patterns.
  • Recognize potential issues and risks during the analytics project implementation and can suggest realistic mitigation strategies.
  • Learn the business systems to make recommendations and support software enhancements.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed with minimal oversight and guidance.
  • Cross-functional coordination and collaboration with line department personnel and centralized data analytics unit.
  • Lead responsibility for IT solution for submittal of Fiscal Year/Mid-Year Prime Contract proposals, Continuing Resolution, Disclosures, Certification, and Actuals Management database.
  • Presentations to BPMI Management and Customer personnel.
  • Supports audits and reviews requested by Customers and/or internal Management.
  • Lead transition of Budgeting and Prime Contract Proposal systems and processes to the unclassified network.
  • Assist in the transition of Timekeeping and Labor Forecasting systems, processes and reporting to the unclassified network.
  • Lead Department efforts to establish/implement tools allowing greater analysis of Budget to Actuals (M&S/Labor), including providing Management/Departments recommendations on future forecasts based on historic trends. Lead establishment of Dashboards or other Advanced Reporting providing Departments insight to all things tracked by BFO (I.e. Budgets, Labor, Timekeeping).

*Minimum Job Requirements:*

 

 

 

 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business related field (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, etc.) or related technical field (Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.)
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of business and financial data analysis experience required.
  • Requires a security clearance, however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
  • Requires US Citizenship due to security clearance requirements.

*Preferred Job Requirements:*

 

 

 

 

  • Proficient/advanced in Business Intelligence tools: Microsoft PowerBI, Power Automate, Power Apps, SQL Server, Oracle OTBI and OAC or equivalent tools.
  • Proficient in SQL, M and DAX Programming Languages (Some experience MDX beneficial).
  • Proficient/advanced in Excel.
  • Fluency in data analysis and interface with systems (e.g., BPMI's Procurement, Budgeting and Estimating (M&S/Labor) and Timekeeping Systems).
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred experience working with dimensional modeling, rational databases and ETL tools.
  • Preferred data warehousing and data modeling experience.
  • Preferred experience working with Azure.
  • Possess a strong knowledge and strong application of finance and procurement concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Develop, present, and explain financial/business decisions.
  • Maintain strong interrelationship skills, and the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Possess strong internal and external customer service orientation as demonstrated by previous position(s).
  • Communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Strong attention to detail and work quality.
  • Have a continuous improvement attitude and willingness to participate in process improvement initiatives. Green belt certification preferred.
