Responsibilities Through regular communications, establishes a collaborative working relationship with stakeholders to ensure that their needs are heard and addressed. Identifies and analyzes problems; distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions and develop solutions. Analyzes diverse viewpoints to make planning decisions and solve work problems. Perform skilled journeyman electrician work involving troubleshooting, assembling, maintaining, installing, adjusting, and repairing heavy industrial electrical equipment, including power, distribution, and instrument transformers, generators, switchboards, circuit breakers, HVAC systems, communication systems, and elevators. Perform skilled journeyman EEM work involving troubleshooting, assembling, maintaining, installing, and repairing complex, state-of-the-art digital and analog electronic industrial controls and equipment typically found in hydroelectric powerplants, including SCADA, sequential event recorders, dataloggers, digital governors, protective relays, and electronic exciters. Perform skilled journeyman industrial facility and equipment maintenance work involving welding, operating cranes, rigging, pipefitting, machining, and troubleshooting, repairing, and installing heavy industrial equipment, such as powerplant turbines, generators, governors, penstocks, spillways, intakes, outlet works, and other structures, as well as elevators, air compressors, and HVAC systems. Maintains and repairs equipment and facilities in an industrial environment requiring an intermediate skill level in a variety of trades, including masonry, concrete, carpentry, welding, plumbing, painting, and mechanical. Operates and uses a variety of equipment, machinery, and tools, such as cranes, welders, farm tractors, motor boats, forklifts, motorized manlifts, light trucks, front-end loaders, road grader, tractor-trailer rig, large trucks with snowplows, impact wrenches, grinders, etc Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. Applicants should have completed a formal apprentice program directly related to electronic, electrical, mechanical or plant operation or possess journey-level technical experience supplemented by formal training and college level/technical course work (military or technical trade schools) or extensive on-the-job training which demonstrates knowledge of at least one of the following areas: experience with power plants and water release equipment, conducting inspections, and operating hydroelectric generating units; experience troubleshooting, assembling, maintaining, installing, and repairing complex, state-of-the-art digital and analog electronic industrial controls and equipment typically found in hydroelectric power plants; electrical practices required for troubleshooting, assembling, maintaining, installing, adjusting and repairing heavy industrial electrical equipment, including power, distribution, and power generation machinery and equipment; or knowledge of the application of industrial maintenance practices required for welding, operating cranes, rigging, pipefitting and troubleshooting, repairing and installing heavy industrial equipment.
