The Opportunity:
The WestRock Mississauga Folding (labels) facility is looking for a Maintenance Starter to work with the Maintenance team. This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for day-to-day maintenance tasks of the facility including completing building repairs, projects and supporting all departments as needed.
How you will impact WestRock:
Assists on maintenance projects when needed.
Performs minor plumbing repairs and installations.
Operates floor scrubbing equipment
Maintains the grounds maintenance including, debris cleanup, removing snow, and ice.
Operates scissor lift and fork lift as needed.
Performs facility repairs and maintenance in all departments with minimal supervision.
Performs routine painting, light bulb changes and other related maintenance.
What you need to exceed:
Must have a minimum of 2 years related experience (e.g. general building maintenance, cleaning, etc.)
Must have a knowledge of basic electricity sufficient to differentiate fluorescent light tubes (e.g., rapid start, instant, who, etc.) and change ballasts.
Must be able to work at heights safely.
Must hold a valid "G" driver’s license and counterbalance forklift license.
Ability to stand and walk 100% of shift on a concrete floor and ability to lift 40 pounds.
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be able to maintain good attendance.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
