NBC6 AND Telemundo 51 are looking for a Multiplatform Producer to create original videos and segments created for our streaming channels that can also be used on linear, OTT and other platforms. We are looking for a bilingual journalist (Spanish/English) with a proven ability to create videos that are shareable and have impact with a digital audience.

Our ideal candidate is full of ideas, has strong editorial judgment and can take a project from pitch to publication.

This person will also need to use someone else’s idea or content and repurpose it for the appropriate platform.

You will be responsible for writing, producing, desktop editing and gathering content for multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable working on multiple pieces of content simultaneously from quick-turn daily edits to something that may take a week or more. This role is expected to seamlessly move from one platform to the next as necessary.  You will need to work closely with news leadership, platform managers and content producers to select the most compelling and relevant stories for the duopoly.  

Responsibilities:

  • Produce content for our streaming channels in English and Spanish, pitching longer format stories, re-purposing content or creating segments or programs live or recorded.

  • Ensure that we are being live, urgent and relevant on the NBC6 South Florida News and Telemundo Florida streaming channels.

  • Pitch, edit and post digital-first video products for a variety of social, digital and OTT platforms.

  • Help grow existing digital video products on diverse platforms.

  • Find stories in data and present data visually in videos.

  • Digest a lot of information and present it in a simple video.

  • Develop, write, and produce digital first series/franchises.

  • Develop graphic elements and treatments for your videos to engage mobile users.

  • Develop best practices and expertise around creating, publishing and distributing videos specific to various digital platforms, and train digital and broadcast producers in those best practices.

  • Actively monitor a variety of video sources to identify content that would appeal to our audiences.

  • Write headlines and text for your videos to maximize engagement.

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, media or equivalent experience.

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience producing videos for TV, streaming or digital platforms.

  • Experience editing videos on tight deadlines.

  • Experience editing in Adobe Premiere.

  • Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for digital attention.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms.

  • Ability to speak and write English and Spanish.

  • Experience in editing video for TV and web.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in newsgathering and/or news production

  • B.A. degree or equivalent in areas such as Journalism & Communications, or related field.

  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadlines, including breaking news.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule which could include overtime, nights, holidays and weekends.

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Must be willing to work at the station’s Miramar location.

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.

  • Must be willing to work in high-risk emergency situations including hurricanes and flooding.

Desired:

  • Deep knowledge of current events.

  • Knowledge of TV and digital script writing.

  • Outstanding communication skills.

  • Experience with a complex CMS a plus.

  • Desire to work in a creative, demanding, competitive environment.

  • Experience in a news environment.
