The Solution Consultant will serve as the clinical domain expert for Radiology and/or Cardiology, with the priority to help win the clinical vote during sales situations. This role will focus primarily on sales and pre-sales activities by providing details and comprehensive clinical support including, in-depth demonstrations of all components of the Cardiology, Conserus and Radiology product lines. From time-to-time, the role will serve as a clinical expert, supporting Product Management, R&D and Product Marketing. In addition, it is expected that this role will be able to provide a basic level of knowledge, demonstrations, presentation and understanding of any and all other components of the imaging and workflow solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide presentations and demonstrations to customers and prospects of our products after thorough discovery incorporating value statements and benefits to Physicians, Administrators, Clinical Staff and C-Level Executives

  • Provide staffing and participation in product areas for tradeshows and product fairs

  • Strategize with the Sales Team on a strategy to win

  • Provide training to sales both initial and on-going to include product feature, architecture, presentation skills, workflow, and demonstrations. To assist sales with demonstrating solution independently at a high level

  • Provide consulting services to prospective customers at sales executive request that would include organizing, interviewing, preparing, and presenting a clinical, financial, and technical assessment and recommendations

  • Act as subject matter expert for radiology and/or cardiology domain including clinical, architectural, workflow and operational questions as they arise during the sales process. Must maintain industry knowledge and issues relating to changes in healthcare and technology

  • Build and maintain an image and report library that will be used as the dataset for the demonstration database. This will include clinical functional review of new features and releases

  • Collect, prioritize and deliver to product management, customer enhancements and issues lists from data collected during pre-sales and sales activities

  • Extensive travel up to 60%

  • Work indoors in various clinical and non-clinical environments – limited but potential exposure to bio and radiological hazards

  • Requires ability to stand for long periods of time, with occasional lifting of computers and monitors up to 50 lbs.

  • Employee will be provided with vision and guidance on the priority of tasks to be done, but it is expected that the employee will be a self-starter, able to take vision-level direction, and determine strategies while working with the sales reps to help win the clinical vote

  • Work in a team environment with other IWS solution consultants, demonstration support engineers, sales executives, systems engineering, product management and R&D

  • Employee is expected to have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to listen to the problems that customers face and have the confidence to propose solutions

  • The job duties of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Providing Enterprise Imaging (EI) product and solution demonstrations

  • Remotely

  • At customer sites

  • Trade shows & conferences

  • Proof of concepts (POCs)

  • Covering mainly the United States and Canada. Occasional trips to the United Kingdom or Ireland

  • Supporting (request for proposal) RFP documentation and responses

  • Management of demonstration patient and data sets

  • Management of demonstration systems and hardware

  • Customer information collection to include current systems, interfaces, and metrics

  • Customer business and clinical workflow observation

  • Customer and internal team training events

  • Customer community education events

  • Customer consultation and health check services

  • Be a subject matter expert (SME) for products and solutions along with 3rd party applications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)

  • 2+ years of clinical experience and education in at least one of the following:

  • Nursing

  • Cardiovascular (Invasive and/or Non-invasive)

  • Radiology and/or Nuclear Medicine

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to travel up to 55-60% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical radiology (Xray, CT, MR, US, NM) or cardiology (invasive, noninvasive, experience, interventional) experience

  • Advanced visualization or 3D experience

  • Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS) and/or Enterprise Imaging (EI) experience

  • Radiology Information System (RIS) experience or administration

  • PACS Administration experience

  • Clinical IT to include interfaces, DICOM, HL&, FHIR, EMR/HER

  • 5+ years’ experience with PACS system (Cardiology and/or Radiology) in a hospital or vendor

  • Experience and knowledge of clinical IT and interfaces

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills

  • In-depth product and subject domain knowledge

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare trends and industry standards

California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii or Washington Residents Only : The salary range for California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $ 45,000 to $ 100,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
