Boston Scientific Patient Access Clinical Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

About the role: Responsible for engaging the patient upon case entry within the Intracept portal. Contacts and educates the patient throughout their journey and is the primary contact for patients inquiring about the clinical data and expectations of the Intracept procedure. Confirms patient engagement throughout the process and corresponds as needed with the practice and physician. Location: Remote; minimal travel (<10%) Your responsibilities: Contact all patient candidates within acceptable timeframe as determined by management. Educate candidates on Intracept, pain management, policy criteria, mental health screenings, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other requirements needed to get to treatment. Responsible for knowing all potential contraindications and policy exclusions and respond per training. Document all interactions within the patient case timely and comprehensively. Makes contact with patients who do not schedule within 30 days following approval to move forward. Communicates findings internally and involves physician when applicable. Provide summary reports to internal and external customers. Draft written communication for letters and e-mails to patients, physician offices, and internal customers as needed. Support local TM and physicians with any education events and candidate follow-up as needed. Position may require periodic travel to meet with local sales reps, physicians, and customer staff. Perform other related duties as assigned, including special projects. Required Qualifications: 2+ years experience in a clinical patient facing role in the healthcare setting preferably in pain management or orthopedic spine specialties. Licensure as L.P.N., R.N., or R.T. is preferred. High school diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: College level certification preferred Knowledge of medical terminology with a focus on the spine. Ability to interact and communicate with people over the telephone in a professional and compassionate manner. Strong ability to read and understand clinical documentation and radiology reports; extracting key information as it pertains to vertebrogenic pain. Ability to plan, organize, and execute daily activities with minimal oversight. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
