Job ID360156 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyInformation Technology Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code8631SO Employee ClassCivil Service About the Job Responsibilities Vulnerability and Security Management (60%) Monitor daily operations of networks, systems hardware, firmware, software, and databases for vulnerabilities and breaches. Ensure compliance with University and industry standards, and monitor system logs using industry standard tools such as Splunk. Firewall administration and support. Conduct security assessments for CSE Departments, Centers, and other units to ensure compliance with University and Industry standards. Keep current on the information security threat environment, and attend University security communities of practice and other meetings. Physical Security (5%) Physical Security for labs and offices such as camera set-up/monitoring and door card access. Documentation & Process Improvement (10%) Develop and enhance documentation of security practices and procedures. Provide procedural and technical guidance to faculty, staff, and students staff. Keep up to date with University Policies/Procedures Research Support (25%) Consult with individuals and research groups on security standards and best practices, and perform specialized assessments for government regulated contracts. Qualifications Required Qualifications A BA/BS degree in a field related to system administration or a combination of related education and work experience equal to four years Ability and motivation to collaborate effectively with a team. Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Experience communicating with diverse groups of people and translating technical issues and trends to non-technical audiences. Experience with applying process improvement concepts and business analysis techniques. Experience with the following tools: splunk, intrusion detection software Preferred Qualifications ITIL 4 Foundations Certificate Experience in knowledge management processes as well as creating/maintaining knowledge bases and other written resources Experience with firewall configuration Experience using Asana for project and task management Experience using TeamDynamics About the Department CSE-IT is a diverse, multi-disciplinary group of professionals who facilitate effective teaching, research, and outreach by providing versatile and expert technology solutions to current and future scientists and engineers.
