Job Description

NOTE: This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days. Location: Minneapolis, MN

Risk Technology Services (RTS) is on an agile journey and as a Agilist / Scrum Master, you will be guiding one or more agile teams through their journey and help driving agile transformation across our internal products and lines of business. You will be part of the RTS “Being Agile” initiative targeting cultural and behavior changes across our organization at the individual, team, leadership, and customer levels. You will help teams and partners understand difference from doing agile and “being agile”.

You are customer obsessed with a focus on serving product teams, ensuring all product vision, planning and development activities are rooted in Agile and Product Values & Principles. You enable the organization to consistently experiment and evolve business strategy based on prior outcomes and feedback. You drive culture change through day to day to work with a focus on Agile & Product mindset, values and continuous improvement and keep the team focused on achieving product goals using agile methods.

Own the agile practices of the team/product group/journey including cross-portfolio impacts, planning, dependency maps, OKRs and key metrics for success in partnership with Product Management, business partners, digital and technology modelling agile methods, values, and principles. Provide regular communication to stakeholders and partners for transparency and awareness of outcomes and impediments; creates visual displays and communications with key information and agile updates for leadership.

Major Responsibility:

  • Embrace the agile mindset, advocate and champion agile across Risk Technology Solutions by challenging, coaching, and guiding teams using agile and lean principles

  • Provide creative solutions to agile transformation issues: resistance to change, limited resources, conflicting priorities, lack of accountability

  • Ability to utilize agile methods in a flexible manner that often includes traditional project management which can include hard deadlines/fixed dates at times

  • Understand the various agile frameworks, events and artifacts (i.e. scrum, Kanban), where they are fit for purpose and how to implement/apply with new and existing teams

  • Manage and facilitate team ceremonies.

  • Coach individual, teams, leaders, and customers in agile principles and practices, roles and responsibilities, and frameworks

  • Foster a continuous improvement environment to build high-performing, agile teams

  • Track and report on metrics for teams to measure progress, effectiveness of agile adoption, and agile maturity of the teams

  • Guide product management teams in their role, defining MVP's, story mapping, writing stories, and backlog prioritization and management

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Typically three to five years of relevant experience

  • Proficient agile practice professional

  • Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Agile technology delivery and Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) teams

  • At least 3 years of experience in a Scrum environment

  • Agile mindset of continuous improvement

  • Report/Metric creation or equivalent work experience

  • Knowledge of Agile principles and practices and capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge

  • Understanding of fundamentals of iterative and incremental development

  • Working knowledge of the software development process – design, development, test, and deployment

- Experience training teams and/or communities of practice (COP )

  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, conflict resolution, budgeting and time management skills

  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master) certification a plus

  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint and/or Mural

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $102,340.00 - $120,400.00 - $132,440.00
