Robert Half Payroll Coord in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Description We are offering a job opportunity in the Energy/Natural Resources industry located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role is for a Payroll Administrator, where you will be responsible for managing, processing, and analyzing payroll for a specific group or region. This is a contract position where your skills in Documentation, Compliance, Payroll, Insurance, Auditing, and more will be put to good use.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full payroll cycle for different personnel groups on a weekly and bi-weekly basis

• Retrieve and validate hours worked from the accounting system and import them into the payroll system

• Verify and analyze employee payroll including pay correction, change of status, special rates, insurance premiums, etc.

• Manage time banks, sick leave banks, and floating vacations

• Ensure effective management of vacation pay and salary input

• Guarantee timely payroll transmissions

• Send payroll accounting entries to the accounting department every week

• Verify and post employment records and respond to employment insurance inquiries

• Participate in the management of audits and SOX compliance

• Serve as the primary contact for all payroll matters, answering internal and external calls

• Participate in the compliance management of the year-end process

• Prepare month-end reports in compliance with deadlines and proceed with check requisitions

• Complete Statistics Canada reports and file payroll-related documents. Requirements • Proficiency in payroll-related software, specifically 'About Time'

• Demonstrated experience in payroll functions and compliance management

• Familiarity with insurance and pension plans

• Expertise in QA management and auditing

• Ability to generate accurate accounting entries and month-end reports

• Knowledge of salary structures and union dues

• Experience in managing compliance with Sarbanes Oxley 404

• Proficiency in statistics and requisitions handling

• Strong documentation skills and the ability to answer payroll-related queries

• Experience in handling CSST and floating in payroll

• Strong understanding of accounting functions

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
