Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit Buildings and Grounds Support Technician (#4998) in Milton, Pennsylvania

Buildings and Grounds Support Technician:

Milton, PA

 

Full time position responsible for supporting the Manager of Buildings and Grounds in all phases of buildings and grounds and fleet operations. This requires coordinating, monitoring and maintaining the vehicle maintenance program for all CSIU vehicles; assure that all fleet equipment is secure, in safe working order and has a current inspection; complete repairs when appropriate.  Responsibilities also include analysis, planning, and implementation of short-term and long-term building repair and renovation projects, including but not limited to, painting, wall repair and/or reconstruction, ceiling repair/replacement, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, landscaping, etc. In addition, this position will oversee organization of CSIU warehouse and garage to include file storage and the online auction process.  The anticipated start date is May 16, 2024.

 

Hourly rate:  $18.50 -- 20.50 non-exempt position following a 12-month, 260 day (8:00AM to 4:00PM) on-site work schedule. Education, skills and experience requirements: 

  • The minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma or an equivalent General Education Diploma (GED).

  • Experience in facility maintenance or equivalent maintenance-related fieldwork.

  • Experience in basic HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, building security procedures is required.

  • A strong basic working knowledge in vehicle maintenance is preferred.

  • levator emergency entrapment training and PA Right To Know training are required within a set amount of time outlined by the Manager of Buildings and Grounds. 

  • A solid ability to provide superior service to CSIU guests and employees is essential to ensure that staff needs are met and guests have a favorable impression of the CSIU.

    • Adept at using virtual meeting platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize the task based on project deadlines.And must be able to type accurately and maintain a high level of productivity.

  • Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees.

  • Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.
