Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Financial Integrity Analyst through 05/20/2024 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time Zone .  

Using both analytical and soft skills, the Financial Integrity Analyst assesses the business operating environment, business processes, associated risks, financial controls, exposures, and transactions of the hundred plus vendors employed by Chevron in the Permian Basin to identify and resolve instances of incorrect billing and contract non-compliance. Works with various stakeholders including Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and Audit to coordinate solutions for any identified instances per Chevron policy.

Job Description

Assesses the business operating environment, business processes, associated risks, financial controls, exposures, and transactions of the hundred plus vendors employed by Chevron in the Permian Basin to identify and resolve instances of incorrect billing and contract non-compliance. For each assessment, develops a review plan, analyzes vendor data, and reports results to the appropriate stakeholder for resolution. Validates that financial controls are functioning correctly using SOX methodology. Ensures compliance with laws, company policies, and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Working with various Chevron stakeholders to enhance and protect value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight.

  • Using SOX methodology to review financial controls.

  • Applying data analytic skills to synthesize and analyze large data sets to identify key findings.

  • Compiling information and drafting reports in a professional format as needed.

  • Conducting on-site reviews of vendors.

  • Obtaining necessary data by extracting from existing databases or other sources, sometimes using complex data extraction techniques.

  • Independently initiating reviews and other investigations based on stakeholder input.

  • Having responsibility for conducting appropriate investigations for an area of the company, group of wells, particular vendor business line, or large group of vendors.

  • Independently identifying data in various available databases or sources for use in analysis.

  • Communicating data and conclusions via presentations and reports.

  • Serving as subject-matter- expert on industries or large groups of vendors.

  • Developing recommendations of improvements to Security Department policies and record keeping procedures.

  • Obtaining, documenting, and appropriately disseminating significant intelligence derived from interaction with other companies, law enforcement agencies, or internal Chevron sources.

  • Seeking out and receiving ongoing training in areas pertinent to the position.

  • Providing training and guidance to other employees and consultants.

    Education/Experience Required

  • Preferred higher education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or Business Administration.

  • 3+ years of experience performing financial analysis or vendor audits for a large or midsized company.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience or exposure to advanced data tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Python, R, etc.

  • Must be legally able to work in the United States.

    Desired Skills/Attributes

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

  • Preferred (CFE) Certified Fraud Examiner

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work in a demanding environment.

  • Law enforcement experience with a background in financial investigations.
