SUMMARY Under limited supervision, unpack, setup, test, repair and perform maintenance of robot systems and related equipment. Provide support to less experienced personnel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Know and follow all safety guidelines, policies and regulations. • Receive, stage, process parts, modules or systems for repair. • Unpack, set up robots and related equipment on test stand. • Preliminary performance test, diagnose, disassemble and inspect. • Evaluate condition of I/O boards, teach pendants, motors, encoders, welder interfaces, bearings and castings, gear reduction devices, harnesses, and belts and chains. Evaluate operation and condition of servo controls. • Determine labor and parts requirements for repair and advise supervisor. • Requisition additional material approved by supervisor. • Reassemble/repair system. Replace bearings, gear reduction devices, harnesses and motors. Adjust and grease as necessary according to set-up/maintenance procedures. • Clean and paint equipment. • Post repair performance test (QC). • Repack, transfer to shipping department. • Cannibalize new parts from systems, replace parts and test. • Develop and perform QA procedure for rebuilds. • Perform assigned tasks within allocated time without compromising quality. • Responsible for care and usage of department tools. • Responsible for overall workmanship of an assigned job. • Track direct and indirect time. • Promote teamwork and foster exemplary work environment. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong mechanical and math skills.
