We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded technical project manager for the position of Strategic Acceleration TPM to join the AWS Partner Organization (APO) Global Strategy Acceleration team (GSA) and work closely with APO technical and business teams, to ensure we are aligned and working as single organization to achieving our strategic goals. This role is pivotal in driving the successful implementation and acceleration of APO key strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, to achieve our strategic vision as a single organization.

This function will own the GSA roadmap, and oversee the development and evolution of technical solutions. This role's focus will extend to interface engineering, ensuring that GSA initiatives align seamlessly with specified requirements. This involves managing the entire life cycle of the initiative, from ideation through implementation and future enhancements, leveraging lessons from previous pilots run across APO. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, understanding user needs, and driving the technical aspects of product or program development to meet GSA strategic objectives and maximize APO’s capability, capacity and performance.

You must be uncomfortable with status-quo, curious about new programs and initiatives impacting our customers, partners, and employees, and possess the ability to ask the right questions. You need to have a bias for action, make informed decisions, and work with minimal direction, demonstrating a proactive approach to projects and tasks. You must be comfortable taking risks and raising the bar for new ways of doing things. Strong analytical, Think Big, Invent & Simplify skills are crucial for success in this position.

Key job responsibilities

  • Take charge of the Global Strategy Acceleration (GSA) roadmap, ensuring it aligns with APO's strategic goals and drive successful implementation and acceleration of key initiatives by closely coordinating with the BU strategic initiative leaders to maintain cross organizational awareness, and surface challenges, disconnects, and opportunities quickly with regard to delivering on strategy.

  • Manage the entire life cycle of GSA initiatives, from ideation through implementation and future enhancements, utilizing insights from previous pilots across APO for continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with GSA Strategic Acceleration Leads, understanding user needs, and spearhead the technical aspects of project development to meet GSA's strategic objectives effectively. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance overall strategy deployment effectiveness.

  • Work closely with APO Operations Strategic Initiative team to strategize and implement tooling and automation solutions, aiming to maximize APO’s capability, capacity, and performance, fostering innovation and efficiency.

  • Dive deep into the business dynamics of partners by collecting meaningful data, anecdotes, insights, and trends, both through internal data metrics and meetings with partners and customers, and participation in partner-facing meetings. The output of these interactions will facilitate the team ability to align and influence the APO strategy, ensuring that customer and partner needs remain at the center of our strategy and strategic initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in technical project management, leading and implementing strategic initiatives.

  • Experience in navigating complex organizational structures and collaborating with technical and business teams.

  • Experience in communicating complex concepts to cross-functional audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work effectively with executives and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.

  • Organized, have multi-tasking skills, and efficient in ambiguous situations.

  • Experience working in a technology or cloud computing environment is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
