Job Purpose and Impact

The Transportation Sourcing Specialist will perform activities to include freight sourcing, negotiation, supplier selection and related projects that ensure efficient transportation of materials and products from origin to destination for multiple cross functional areas within the company. In this role, we seek a professional who will participate in Identifying and selecting most appropriate and cost-effective transportation by using strong continuous improvement, collaboration, problem solving and negotiation skills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Liaison between transportation and logistics partners with a focus on business strategy, metrics and performance to include the emphasis of carrier strength, performance maintenance and to review any improvement opportunities.

  • Apply a general understanding of transportation and logistics practices and procedures to assist in negotiating freight prices and contract terms for customers.

  • Update transportation websites and databases for contracts, freight rates and estimates, insurance information, customer information, and complete freight rate requests to business groups

  • Independently analyze current transportation operations practices to resolve process and cost improvement opportunities.

  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of two years of related work experience

  • Advance English level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the fundamentals in transportation, logistics, operations, or supply chain management.

  • Demonstrated ability to do tactical sourcing for business and shipment execution.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make strategic business decisions.
