Finance Manager – Finance Operation Business Partnership

Amazon Finance Operations was created to support rapid growth across all business units. The goal of the team is to deliver seamless procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes that enable Amazon’s ongoing expansion within LATAM and across the globe. We are seeking an experienced candidate to identify, analyze, create, develop, and innovate solutions, that lead to improvements in our end-to-end processes for our vendors and customers.

The Finance Operations Business Partnering team works closely with Vendor Management, Operations, Technology, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Service Centers and Business Finance teams, as well as external vendors. This position will partner closely with the business teams to step change our processes in a way that significantly improves the experience of vendors who do business with Amazon, while driving internal efficiencies. You will responsible for owning improvements to achieve targets.

This is an exciting role. It involves working with multiple business units, business partnering, building additional functionalities, and streamlining processes. Complex problem solving and financial analysis skills are required to manage multiple high visibility priorities in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly and be willing to experiment with new ideas.

Key job responsibilities

  • Support internal customer groups in Finance, Corporate Functions, Technology, Operations, Vendor Management and Project Management

  • Establish a regular cadence of engagement with the Finance Operations Service Center, ensuring process excellence with the highest degree of controllership.

  • Maintain end to end responsibility of key Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable processes and work with technology teams to understand, measure and improve support systems

  • Develop and implement effective organization communications with business partners, including financial modeling and analysis, metrics and reporting that provide insights and a proactive way of managing and monitoring the impacts of change.

  • Identify and develop opportunities for improved cash flow, margin or productivity improvements related to vendor payments and receivables. Collaborate and build relationships with system and business owners globally to drive end-to-end improvements and sound financial and customer experience recommendations and successes.

  • Consolidate inputs, and challenge assumptions, on performance drivers and projections from stakeholders

  • Identify and quantify financial/operational risks and opportunities

  • Drive critical vendor, process and system escalations effectively to ensure root cause analysis and effective problem resolution and improved customer experience while ensuring the highest degree of controllership and customer obsession.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 3+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.) experience

  • 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience

  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 5+ years of directly managing and leading a team of 5+ members experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or certificate of completion of studies required

  • Fluent in both, English and Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience

  • 3+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making
