The Opportunity:

This role is a Systems Engineering supporting LAND121 - 3B/5B in the delivery of Medium Heavy Capability, Field Vehicles, Modules and Trailers for Defence. You will be joining a team to deliver the technical aspects of the project through design reviews, test and evaluation and support to technical certification. A focus on building relationships, managing KBR’s partnerships and maintaining client satisfaction will be key to this role, with a view to maximising business opportunities within the agreed operating structure.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake and oversee the development of Technical Investigations and Technical Instructions relating to platform systems, including the verification and validation of technical data

  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop design requirements in the context of engineering change management and configuration management relating to Mechanical and Electrical platform systems

  • Act as a Design Acceptance Representative, participate in Engineering design Reviews and the development of Engineering Support Reports

  • Act as the lead for considerable upgrade projects on behalf of client

  • Work both within and to the requirements of the Authorised Engineering Organisation

  • Work to the requirements of Contractor Engineering Management Plan

  • Assist with preparation and/or review of work instructions and maintenance schedules

  • Conducting work to a high standard, including work on engineering reports and design contract documents

  • Working within Certification Standards and established industry practices

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer and supplier contacts

  • Provide guidance, mentorship and assistance to team members including graduate levels as and when required

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualified, Chartered Professional Engineer, Electrical, Mechatronics or Mechanical

  • Experienced in Systems Engineering practice using EIA-632/IEEE 15288 or equivalent

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute Systems Engineering Management Plan

  • Hands-on experience in configuration management practice

  • Working knowledge of ASDEFCON Contracting framework (above and/or below the line)

  • Experience in risk management

  • Experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) planning and test execution

    Other Requirements

  • 5+ years Specialty Engineering practice as Electrical or Mechanical Platform engineer in Defence Environment

  • Ability to conduct Change Control Boards and Risk Management Meetings

  • Experience in requirements management and use of DOORs

  • Experience in developing System Design and detail design documentation

  • Experience in Systems Safety and developing and implementing safe ways of working and WHS plan
