Textron Aviation Australia Pty Ltd an industry leader in the aircraft maintenance sector, providing maintenance services for Private, Charter, Corporate and Government operators. Textron has a growing reputation for excellence in aviation. With capabilities located in Perth, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Karratha along with a flexible and experienced workforce, we are able to provide a professional service throughout Australia.

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Engineering Manager to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in the overall success of our organisation by planning, managing, and monitoring all engineering functions at our East Coast facilities. This role is accountable for overseeing all engineering projects and processes, including estimates, budgets and timelines, and making any necessary adjustments to ensure successful completion of all scheduled and non-scheduled aircraft maintenance and upgrades on budget and in given timeframes.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you are responsible for leading and developing the engineering and maintenance teams. You will direct, co-ordinate and exercise authority for strategic planning and leadership to efficiently and cost-effectively complete all maintenance in accordance with regulatory and safety compliance.

In order to support organisational growth, this position is expected to actively contribute to the development of a continuous improvement culture and assist with the optimisation of resources, personnel, and engineering processes.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • Highly motivated team leader with experience managing and overseeing people and projects;

  • Have a strong focus on engineering quality, safety, cost and delivery;

  • Ability to form engineering strategies, implement procedural changes, analyse and identify resources for future works;

  • Strong communicator, both verbal and written with excellent problem-solving abilities;

  • Strong customer focus.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Sound knowledge of CASA Regulations;

  • Minimum of five (5) years aircraft maintenance experience;

  • Broad scope and depth of knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices and standards;

  • Prior leadership experience;

  • Experience in managing customer requirements.
