Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager in Meadville, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4404998 THE POSITION PennDOT is currently looking for an Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager to join their team. This role involves assisting the County Maintenance Manager and overseeing maintenance operations in a designated area of the Crawford County Maintenance Organization. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Your main role will be to determine the maintenance functions that need to be carried out in a designated region of the county maintenance organization by evaluating the state of the highways, negotiating for available workforce and equipment, and identifying crucial needs for the area. Additionally, you will be responsible for assessing how well subordinate foremen are executing planned activities and intervening as necessary to ensure that objectives are met. You will receive supervision from the County Manager and will have a considerable amount of flexibility in planning and executing work programs. The success of your work will be measured against the achievement of highway maintenance program objectives.

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1; or Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirement: This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
