Here, you will make an impact by:Responsible for providing enterprise-wide guidance on implementing and updating economic sanctions and export control compliance programs to ensure business objectives comply with all relevant export laws and regulations.Implementing compliance measures targeting new restrictions in the economic sanctions and export controls space, liaising with and training impacted businesses on new restrictions.Managing team handling all aspects of export compliance, including applying for and complying with export license requests, and training business teams on the use of licenses.Overseeing the review and disposition of SAP GTS and other ERP system blocks, technology/technical data access controls, visitor management requests, international travel workflow, and other workflows as required;Collaborating with the Global Training Leader on training and internal risk assessments to ensure effectiveness of internal controls, coordinating and collaborating with other functions supporting businesses including Legal, M&A team, Internal Audit, Finance and business teams to ensure policies and procedures are being followed.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionEight (8) years of in-depth knowledge and experience with US, EU and other international sanctions and export control regulations, including experience liaising with relevant government authorities, including OFAC and BIS in a private, public, government or military environmentExperience working in a multinational company with complex supply chains handling economic sanctions and export controls complianceAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Past experience working in a government capacity, law firm or consultant to support sanctions and export control compliance;People management expertise or experience collaborating on cross-functional teams and ability to influence executive stakeholders;Experience with different application tools (e.g., SAP GTS, SharePoint, Office 365, DJIA, Visual Compliance);A desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities;Ability to work independently and communicate clearly and effectively with their team, management, Legal, and business teams;Curious and innovative in approach to leadership and execution of necessary goals.Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)Travel: May include up to 10-15% Domestic and International travelRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictio s on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain "non-U.S. persons" (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, "Temporary Residents" (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provisions), or persons granted asylum (but excluding persons in nonimmigrant status such as H-1B, L-1, F-1, etc.) or non-U.S. citizens.To comply with these laws, and in conjunction with the review of candidates for those positions within 3M that may present access to export controlled technical data, 3M must assess employees' U.S. person status, as well as citizenship(s).The questions asked in this application are intended to assess this and will be used for evaluation purposes only.
