Martin Marietta Materials Zoning Permitting Manager - Minnesota in Maple Grove, Minnesota

JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Zoning & Permitting Manager to be responsible for management of land use permitting in Minnesota, with occasional opportunities to support projects in the Central Division. Locations served are throughout the Twin Cities area and outlying areas in the southern third of the state. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Acquire and maintain local land use permits for all sites and operations in Minnesota. Consult and assist regarding permits elsewhere in the Central Division. * Monitor sites for zoning compliance (permit conditions/requirements and critical dates) and renew or amend zoning permits as needed. * Represent Martin Marietta at public hearings, including formal presentations. * Develop and maintain relationships with regulators (local city/county staff). * Respond and track inquiries from local permitting authorities and the general public. * Work with AutoCAD and ArcGIS to provide mapping services. * Involvement in the preparation and update of mine plans. * Assist with the population and maintenance of the corporate land database. * Promote the Martin Marietta safety culture. * Provide technical assistance to production staff and management. * Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Work Environment This job operates both in the office and in the field (mine sites, government offices, residences). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners/photocopiers, filing cabinets. Routine travel by car between appointments and sites. Competency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is important to this role. Must be able to work outdoor in all weather conditions (heat, cold, wet or dry). Some exposure to dust, noise, sand, gravel, water, diesel exhaust, etc. Potential for long hours in vehicle. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, manual dexterity, repetitive motion, standing, sitting (must be able to sit for extended periods of time up to 8 hours), walking, climbing stairs, bending and stooping, tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather, able to tolerate working at heights up to 100 feet and the ability to drive. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position that may require occasional long hours and weekend work. Travel Frequent day trips around the Twin Cities and southern third of Minnesota will be required, generally scheduled at the employee's discretion, to participate in meetings, public hearings and site visits. Out-of-area and overnight travel will be expected from time to time. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in land use planning, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. Preferred qualifications: * 5+ years of experience in land use planning and/or zoning administration.
