JOIN THE TEAM

Business Process Integration (BPI) provides and supports digital solutions for B2B integrations with external partners thru a variety of systems and processes within the BASF’s architectural landscape. BPI is considered a strategic tool to digitize processes and enable seamless exchange of data between applications, businesses, customers and partners in real-time.

  • The Technical/IT and Business Solution Consultant (TC/BSC) provides customized connectivity solutions for internal partners and external companies via EDI and similar technologies. Depending on experience and professional background (seniority level), the consultant will be responsible for supplemental tasks in the daily operation e.g. operational support (2nd/3rd level), issue resolving, quality assurance and business interaction. The role does also include assignments to support comprehensive business integration projects.

  • The TC/BSC supports our internal and external customers to specify their requirements and translates those into best-in-class Solution Designs based on technical and business process knowledge, aligned with process design and architecture.

  • The consultant works in a global, international setting for BPI DevOps, interacting with team members in all other regions to provide sustainable digital solutions for our partners.

  • Additional work aspects: strategic contribution to IT architecture and cross-process digitalization efforts, interact with connectivity solution by supporting API, micro services, generative AI and other industries relevant technical developments.

  • Connectivity Business Functions in scope: Ordering/Market-to-Order, Procurement, Transport and Logistics, Finance and other related ERP processes

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ​​​​​Consult and support internal and external partners when dealing with complex processes and IT application questions

  • Consult and support IT analysis (process and/or data), mentoring, modeling, solution design and optimization of related business processes and models

  • Provides a deep technical understanding of standard connectivity message structures and programming protocols (supporting e.g. iDocs, XML, EDIFACT, VDA, JSON, etc.)

  • Ability to work and navigate in SAP middleware platforms (PO, CPI, etc.)

  • Showing transactional experience in SAP R3 and/or S4/HANA

  • Showing experience in AXWAY TSIM (TradeSyncIntegrationManager)

  • Conducts and support the technical implementation of the B2B Integration to external partners

  • Execute studies in preliminary stages of projects, including evaluation of existing or new solutions

  • Ability to support strategic planning and realization

  • Can assume roles as project manager and related tasks

  • Coordinate and execute prototyping, configuration and testing of solutions based on BASF requirements, while ensuring quality and security aspects

  • Provide structured acceptance, analysis and description of solutions and/or concepts

  • Support and/or steer the formulation of more complex costs estimates for efforts spend solution design, testing and implementation of business solutions

  • Use standardized BASF methods, tools and reports

  • Provides Business support and training (processes, tools, reports, etc.) where required

  • Provide guidance and structure to enable day2day operational support incl, advising external support resources

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business IT, Business Economics or other IT relevant fields

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience

  • Experience in Systems Connectivity (B2B), middleware configuration (SAP PO, CPI & Axway TSIM), SAP (R3 and/or S4/HANA,) required

  • Experience in API and Generative AI is preferred

  • Knowledge in ABAP and others is a plus

  • Knowledge of process and industry requirements specific to OTC, Logistics and related processes incl. regulatory requirements is preferred

  • Extensive knowledge of standard connectivity messages, related business processes and applications

  • Highly develop sense of responsibility

  • Highly developed conflict management skills and conflict awareness

  • Highly developed strategic thinking

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Well-developed proactive and self-driven character

  • Highly customer and innovation oriented

  • Good business knowledge in various application and process areas
