Job Description

This Nurse Manager role is going to oversee an 40 bed floor, however, the average patient volume is 24 patients. The nursing staff population is a hybrid of tenured nurses as well as new nurses, therefore this individual needs to understand how to manage people with varying levels of expertise, including 3 day shift Charge Nurses. They will provide administrative and operational responsibility for the entire department, including management of cost and finance, human resources, operations, quality of care and clinical outcomes, patient/physician and staff satisfaction. This individual will serve as part of the entity management team and Shared Governance Model focused on promoting the mission, vision and values of this large health system. They will be responsible for succession planning, identifying talent, providing support, education, and resources to grow future nursing leaders. Lastly, they will be required to assist in staffing as necessary to provide clinical care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Skills and Requirements

-Minimum 3 years nursing experience within acute care hospital setting

* Critical Care experience - PICU,NICU,ICU, Cardiac, Trauma, Neuro-ICU, Med Surg, Step Down (IMCU)

• 1 year of nurse leadership experience

* Team Lead or Charge Nurse Experience Accepted

* Comfortable working with a staff of entry level nurses and nurse residents

• Strong Communication and effective communicator with all levels of employees from entry level to C-Suite

• Registered RN for State of Georgia

• BLS certified - BSN Preferred

• Orthopedic experience (knee hip and spinal)

• Inpatient plastics experience null
