Amazon Capacity Planning Analyst in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

The Capacity Planning Team provides AMZL with cost-optimal and flexible capacity solutions for in-station operations, year-round and enabling the business to scale for seasonal peak demand increases. This role is based Luxemburg. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact daily business, has a strong delivery record and experienced in driving execution in a cross-functional environment, backed by analysis and data. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, relish working with large amounts of data, and enjoys the challenge of solving highly complex, and sometimes ambiguous problems.

As a Planning Analyst in the Capacity Planning Team, you will be working on the weekly cadence for the generation of labor plans for AMZL delivery stations to make sure the organization is well prepared for the future. You will analyze execution gaps to improve future plans. You will work cross-functionally and build key relationships to ensure that decisions are made and action. Which enables the AMZL operations to run as effectively as possible. You will challenge the unknown and strive for continuous improvement in key areas of our business.

A successful candidate enjoys problem solving, is comfortable accessing and working with big data from multiple sources, and is enthusiastic about partnering with other teams across the business to deliver results. You should have an internal drive to challenge the status quo, excellent analytical skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. You should be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, naturally curious, and be involved in the details.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, the analyst must have excellent interpersonal skills to create constructive and effective relationships with stakeholders in order to build solid, stable and continuously improving plans. It is required to dive-deep and insist on high standards in order to make improvements to tools and results, discouraging repetitiveness of actions.

A day in the life

The role of the planner is to ensure on a weekly basis that the planning tool of the individual DS is as aligned to reality as possible and that opportunities for improvement are always explored and applied. His/her whole plan must be constructed to reflect the operational (hours needed, coverage for possible absenteeism, number of planned hires and UTR capacity planning) and financial need. Our customer are OPS, mainly, and the other teams such as Finance, WFS, PC, etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, business analytics, information systems or related field

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Excel

  • Fluent in Italian and English

  • Experience in complex problem solving, root cause analysis in a business environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in operations/supply chain/logistics

  • Knowledge of VBA, SQL, Power Query, Power Pivot

  • Experience with supply chain management and transportation concepts

  • Strong interest in the role and proactivity
