LUFKIN-CITY OF Crew Leader III-WW Treatment Plant in Lufkin, Texas

This position is responsible for maintenance of the City of Lufkin Water System, including facilities, treatment production equipment and other equipment. FULL TIME SCHEDULE Mon - Fri 7 AM - 3:30 PM. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma/GED Valid Texas Driver License: Class B CDL preferred but not required Grade C Wastewater Certification issued by Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) preferred 5 years of experience working in a wastewater treatment plant or related industry is required, with increasing levels of responsibility Experience in a leadership or management role is also preferred Proficient in preventive maintenance, system monitoring, and recordkeeping Strong commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory requirements On-Call duties as required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed Knowledge of the operating procedures of the citys water treatment plant Knowledgeable of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in wastewater treatment plants Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols, and experience implementing safety programs is REPORTS TO WWTP Superintendent. Ability to read and understand written guidelines from manuals, blueprints and regulations Knowledge of basic arithmetic. MAJOR DUTIES: Essential duties and functions, may include the following (Other related duties may be assigned) Ensure all equipment used in the activated sludge process is properly maintained and repaired. This equipment includes pumps, motors, blowers, valves, pipes, and other mechanical and electrical components Supervising and training other maintenance workers, providing guidance and direction to ensure that they perform their duties safely and efficiently Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair work on all plant equipment to ensure optimal performance Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, as well as system monitoring results Document any equipment failures or malfunctions, record repair work performed, and keep a log of any changes made to the system Ensure that all workers follow safety procedures and protocols Troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively, using your knowledge of mechanical systems and your experience working in the activated sludge plant Various other duties as assigned.
