Pharmacometrics is concerned with the mathematical and statistical analyses and modeling of biological, pharmacological, and physiological data and processes. It quantifies the various aspects of the (desired and undesired) effects of drugs in the context of disease. The models are based on clinical data, and provide a basis for informing efficient drug development, regulatory decisions, and optimal treatment of patients. The Senior Pharmacometrician will independently perform high quality pharmacometric (PMx) analyses essential for internal decision making and successful regulatory submission. Pharmacometrics at AbbVie is a subdivision of Clinical Pharmacology (ClinPharm) in the Clinical Development organization.
This means
Assisting the PMx lead in the selection of action plans that best meets ClinPharm and drug development business objectives
Ensuring timely delivery of PMx documents with support of supervisor. (e.g., dataset specifications, analysis plans, presentations, and reports, as well as other documents for regulatory interactions)
Actively participating and presenting at ClinPharm project team meetings and to ClinPharm leadership
Seeking to continually evaluate and implement novel PMx methods and approaches
Delivering results for business needs and plays a role in positioning AbbVie for long-term success
Qualifications
This i s how you can make a difference
PhD with 0 years of experience, Master’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 5+years of experience in relevant field includes experience with data science, mathematics, biostatistics, modeling and simulation, Pharmacometrics or systems pharmacology
Interest in medical topics
Proven scientific track record and practical experience in several of the following areas:
Statistical modeling
Modeling with differential equations
Scripting languages (Python, R, Julia or similar)
Clinical trials and drug development
Critical thinking and self-reflecting
Persistent and resilient
Ability to connect unrelated concept and to generate original or unique ideas
You influence colleagues to achieve departmental alignment
You give full accountability when delegating and accept full accountability when delegated to
Fluency in English required, German would be a plus
